A Few Must Have Apps To Help Any Student...

Having an AnDroid Phone is a Big Plus for Students today, there's just so many Apps to Assist you in several areas:

A: Google Account: Basically you want to add your Gmail account to your phone if you haven't yet, and here's why - there are many useful apps that was specifically designed to work with your Android Phone:

Gmail <- Conversation style email client, a 100 times better than most paid email clients

Contacts <- Add a phone number/contact info on your phone it saves it to your web based Gmail Contacts account

Calander <- Web based fully synced with your phone (add or delete an event, (ie. class schedule, meet-up with the crew...) on the on your phone and it instantly syncs with your web based calendar.

Docs <- Web based and Mobile "Word Processor" type Reports, Letters, Term Papers, basically anything you would do in MS Word you can do with this app

Maps <-Never get lost or wonder how to get somewhere, this app has: Transit (MTA), Car (w/free voice navagation), Biking and Walking directions, with a few clicks you can send your location to friends that you're meeting but just can't seem to find.

B: EVERNOTE: Classes, School Work, Papers, Studying all have one major component that can make or break you so to speak. Nowadays very few students actually go to a library to get resources for studying, with the World Wide Web you can basically get all your information needed to compile that Report or Term paper straight from the web. And so having an App that will always be there to take notes on while researching and gathering information from the web (sources and all) there is not a better application than Evernote.

When I first started this little "Now U Know" series, I was already to elaborate even further about the benefits of using "Evernote" for research purposes during your studying, but then I received an email from Evernote that kinda did all that for me. So, if you click this link "Evernote For Students - The Ultimate Research Tool" you will find some valuable nuggets of information of how to use Evernote to Get It Done.

C: DICTIONARY: Now most Word Processors have spellcheck and you may think, what do I need a dictionary for, well for the times when you're actually Thinking and Writing something, or for that time when your spelling of a word is so out of order that even spellcheck is clueless as to what you're trying to write, (come on, don't act like this has never happened to you...)

Next is the "Office Calculator", remember the old desk calculators withe the tape keeping a record of all your calculations, wouldn't it be great to have one of those with you at all times, you never know when you gotta calculate something and want to see each entry. This is it, this little baby here has a virtual tape so you can see each entry in case you have to correct a mistake.
